Not interested in purchasing produce filled with pesticides? Me neither! However, buying everything organic can burn some holes in our pockets so which foods should I buy organic and which foods can I buy conventional? A very credible place you can visit to find out is the Environmental Working Group’s website where they update the list of the Dirty Dozen and the Clean Fifteen.
Here’s what’s on the list of the Dirty Dozen this year (fruits and veggies that have the highest amount of pesticides):
- Strawberries
- Spinach
- Kale
- Nectarines
- Apples
- Grapes
- Peaches
- Cherries
- Pears
- Tomatoes
- Celery
- Potatoes
Here’s what made it to the Clean Fifteen list this year (fruits and veggies that have the lowest amount of pesticides):
- Avocados
- Sweet corn
- Pineapple
- Onions
- Papaya
- Sweet peas (frozen)
- Eggplants
- Asparagus
- Cauliflower
- Cantaloupes
- Broccoli
- Mushrooms
- Cabbage
- Honeydew melon
- Kiwi
Take a screenshot of the lists above and keep it in the notes section so you can refer to them while you’re shopping.

Mamas, did you know you can also download the EWG Healthy Living app onto your phone? So when you’re shopping for food or personal care products, simply scan a barcode or search up the product and see how it’s rated. This is where I was introduced to many non-toxic and safe products for our home! For mamas who want to adopt a non-toxic lifestyle, this app is an absolute MUST!
