I live firmly live by Hippocrates’ famous quote, “Let food be thy medicine”. I am a living testament of this belief as there were way too many times when food (when wisely consumed) either alleviated or fully cured my health problems for me to deny its healing properties. By no means do I claim that food should be a be-all-end-all solution to all of our health concerns. I simply believe the science of nutrition and its effects on the human body deserve much more attention, not just from scholars of food science and applied nutrition. I am just an ordinary woman who experienced and continue to experience an extraordinary benefit from studying the benefits of food. I experienced an even bigger benefit applying what I learned to optimize my health and the health of others in a way that is most convenient and easily understood.
I am here to help you make wise food choices that are both realistic and suitable for busy individuals. Whether you’re in school, working the night shift, or work a corporate 9-5 job like me, I am here to help!
With that being said, let me share with you a prized possession smoothie recipe of mine. For me to finally be ready to share this with you means so much more than a recipe release. It took me years of trial-and-error, research, and first-hand experience to find the perfect morning drink that will keep me feeling full until lunch time while not making me feel heavy or sabotage my sugar levels.
I created AHealthyGlo smoothie line with 10 different smoothies specific to what you want or need that day.

A Happy Smoothie helps brighten up my mood almost instantly. It’s packed with lots of feel-good ingredients that stimulate feel-good hormones which boosts up the mood and resets my emotions. Here’s the recipe:
A Happy Smoothie
- In a good blender (I use Vitamix), pour in 2c unsweetened organic coconut milk
- 1 handful of organic spinach
- 1/2 of a banana
- 1 serving of chocolate protein powder (I use Garden of Life Raw Protein)
- A sprinkle of cinnamon
- 1 tbsp flaxseed oil
- Juice of half of a lemon
- 1 tbsp cacao nibs (I use Navitas Organic Cacao Nibs)
- 1 tbsp chia seed (I use Nutiva Organic Chia Seeds)
Note: If you feel yourself getting hungry before lunch time, try upping your intake of fat. In this smoothie, you can add another tbsp of flaxseed oil or add in a half of a small avocado.
